Pagan’s Mind is, for me, the logical, and better trajectory Dream Theater should have taken after its Images & Words album. Vocalist Nils Rue (also: Eidolon) is fantastic, crafting some of progressive metal’s most dynamic and triumphant melodies, and guitarist/band leader Jorn Viggo Lofstad is one of heavy metal’s most exciting “new” players.
This DVD showcases all PM’s strengths. Its becoming-legendary attention to TIGHT and Rush-like live performance is on full display. To not buy this if you’re a fan is, dare I say, foolish.
10/10, hands down
