When you boiled the plants how come you did not strain the water out every 2 to 3 hours and added new water until the plant does not change its color and then combine all of the boilings and reduce them to the drinking amount(isnt that supposed to be more potent and powerful that way?)

yes, I have heard that it is possible. gives it time to cool and for the solids in it to settle so if you wish you can filter it again.
