How to Prepare Salvia for Smoking

Salvia Divinorum is a green plant native to Southern Mexico. The Mazatec tribes of Mexico use this legal substance that holds a strong psychoactive compound known as Salvinorin. Traditionally, the Mexicans especially the shamans use this herb for curative and divine purposes. Salvia has been portrayed to cause divine intoxication, which allows the healer to trance and take a trip into the supernatural world searching for the cure for the patient. The scientific community are skeptic about this plant, they doesn’t seem to classify it into any of the accessible pharmacological category.

Salvia has been prepared on two common methods; through smoking and oral, others prefer it cooked. This is how to prepare salvia for smoking. First, prepare a Dried Salvia leaves, it is the easiest and most common way to prepare the herb, it is readily available in some commercial supplier and can be smoked using a tobacco pipes, water pipes or joints. The smoke should be inhaled hot and fast for the Salvinorin to be vaporized and infused into the lungs. It is required to do quite a few hits in quick succession for the Salvia to take effect immediately.

The usual dose of smoking Salvia leaves is 0.25 to 0.5 grams, but dosages may vary according to the effect on each individual. Salvia takes effect almost instantaneously, in a matter of a minute and rapidly accelerating that lasts up to 5 to 10 minutes, then gradually fading out over the next 20 to 30 minutes.
