Question by I love you just as you are: If you would be in the position of King Herodes, how would you have reacted?
Okay imagine you are the King and there comes this outstanding beautiful sexual female creature called Salomo and she dances in a way which makes your heart pump in lust.
You know as a king that Johannes the Baptist is pure and noble.
As the dance of the beautiful Salomo was invigorating you with its magic you offer Salomo as a gift to fulfill one wish. She wishes the head of Johannes. What would you do in such a circumstance?

if i were the king I would be loyal and refuse to give the hussy what she desired! actually i wouldn’t be stupid enough to offer to fulfil her one wish in the first place… that’s just asking for trouble.
What do you think? Answer below!
If I weren’t a pompous old king afflicted with egotism and enfeebling degeneracy I might think of a solution similar to the one Portia used in The Merchant of Venice. I’d say to Salome: “Right, I can give you the head of John, but I cannot possibly let him die. Find a way for me to do this, and I’ll gladly hand the head over to you on a platter.” I think I’d then be killing two birds with one stone, sparing John and getting Salome to either love me for my wisdom, compassion, and intelligence or becoming enraged and showing her ugly side so I’d know she was actually not so lovable as she seemed.
Wishing the death of others, the dancer obviously asks for an exile. Although all the whys should be found out before the last decision, of exile or conversion.
One wish? I would simply sign her to a contract at the regular pay. Herod was an idiot.
