A new age in Dictaphone
The old Dictaphone has fast been replaced with the Voice Recorder. The new digital voice recorders are far superior to the old Dictaphone. Small in stature but big on memory, your new voice recorder can keep going far longer.
Because of this it has become far more practical and useful. Instead of being used just to dictate the odd letter the new voice recorders can be used for far more functions. You can use your voice recorder in meetings to record the whole meeting. This saves having to have someone present to take the minutes. How useful would it be to take a voice recorder in to a lecture? You would have the whole thing to refer back to when completing your notes.
Because of their compact size its easy to use your voice recorder just to record reminders when you are away from the office. With so much memory you won’t be reaching for a new tape half way through something. Not only that, but if you use a voice recorder as a journalist, you have plenty of memory to capture every word.
You can attach a microphone to get better audio if you are using the voice recorder in lectures or trying to reach someone so that you can hear their response clearly. By far the most useful aspect of a voice recorder is that you can download your recording to your PC and archive it, very useful if you want to save lectures. Not only that, but with some software you can transfer your voice recording to text. You may want to copy what was said in a meeting and this would enable you to do so at the click of a mouse. It saves time and possibly another member of staff.
