The old shaman is a Dukha (mong.Tsaatan, but the interview is in Mongolian. He said he was a yellow shaman, who cures illnesses and does good for people. He lives in Khovsgol province, Ulaan-Uul district, west from the lake Khovsgol. He is the only person who speaks Dukha as a native language in the vicinity of Ulaan-Uul. In this short video he shows his requisits, the nine weapons and a little pocket.
this is amazing, im mongolian but i live in the United States and i never know that mongolians were such spiritual people. i’d like to learn more about this 🙂
I have only one weapon for self defence against bad energy & evil spirits! I guess it is differs from place to place. I guess most popular weapon witch chase away evil spirit is miniture=tiny axe! A Great video!
I suppose he wanted to keep in secret the content of the small pocket. He keeps his medicines in it. This is Darkhat dialect, not very diffcult to understand.
A tough interview. Do you now why the Shaman reacted so harshly when you asked “ene uutan dotroo yuu yuu ve”, or is “Baihgui yaahav” kinder than it appears to me? By the way, how come that you are frequently aware of dialects about which no fifty pages of linguistic discription seem to have been written?
Very good.
Thank you again for a very interesting vid sir!
