This is me recording some shamanic beats and chants. It’s only a demo and is not the real deal as I was trying to keep the levels low, both so as not to distort the camera volume levels, and because I was aware of the next door neighbours. But it gives a flavour.

@firfiragapula Ah thanks – I need to do a new shamanic drumming video and also one where it lasts for the full 25 minutes which is about how long I drum for, when I am doing drumming meditations for other people. I know Youtube only allow 10 minute videos but it’s something I have been meaning to do for a while, I have just been lacking a location for the recording. @IanWelland Cheers – I feel my drumming has really come along nicely since I recorded this. This year I also started to do mediations for other people doing this kind of drumming and that has been very well received. The drumming also really seems to shift negative energy in people, but it can catch them unawares, as some people have found out!

I know how you feel. He doesn’t seem to be charging people for ceremonies or exploiting native cultures to make money from ceremonies.
I don’t think he is a real medicine man/shaman though, I think he is just drumming to balance himself.

Thanks for your comment. I do do ceremonial drumming, especially around fires in sacred places, stone circles and the like, sometimes with friends. This was more a demo as I was aware of the camera and was not fully 100% in that state of consciousness. I also had neighbours to worry about so couldn’t let rip. I think that is why I called it a demo, but yeah, am planning a new video soon of an actual ceremony with me drumming outdoors.

Thanks – I may do a beach drumming moon ceremony video, but it’s tough as you only get 10 minutes of time on Youtube. If you go to google video and search under “Simon and George reherse for the sonic henge” you will find a 26 minute experimental session.
The singing is based on Native North American sweat lodge songs, but with my own take on them as opposed to trying to copy the originals. I use hindu mantras too sometimes and at other times channel the chants from spirit.

I think it is great. I’m very interested in ancient and eastern religions,and organizing a collective similar to erowid in nature but way smaller in my city. Yes – it is a Remo drum but I do also have a buffalo skin drum that I made myself at a workshop. Thank you for your kind words.
