From the album A Black Moon Broods Over Lemuria (1995) Lyrics: Dark baleful shades astride the mystic heath, Old land’s enchantments, wolf-eyes agleam, The moon slips ‘neath the darkling sea, The trees sing enthralling chants as the old gods dream… As a black moon broods over Lemuria, ebon witchfire enshrouds the gleaming citadels, Sinistrous shadows rise from the vaults of the dreaming elder gods, Ophidian eyes glimmer through the icy whispering moon-mist… Shimmers of black in the massing dark, moon-frost glistens upon my tongue, The wraiths have gathered beneath the oak, my soul encased in antediluvian steel, The shades of pallid night descend, to ride the slime-flecked jewelled halls, Enshrined in ice and witches’ spells, and silence falls on the marble walls. By the eldritch glow of black moonfire, the frost-shrouded trees whisper of silent paths, Brooding shades rise forth from the night-dark sea, a black tide of fiends erupts from the ebon gate. Shimmers of black… Winter moonlight gleams through crooked boughs, The icy caress of night entwines the eon-veiled Obsidian Tower, The whisperings of ancient tongues are borne upon the winds, Dark time-lost spells hold the key to the frost veiled Gate of the Black Moon… And in the dark ethereal mists of winter dreams, The ebon waters of enlightment gleam ‘neath the black moon, And the Valley of the Silent Paths beckons… Slumbering upon the throne of moon-caressed ice, I have supped deep the draught of white vapours …

Lyrics: Satan, dark lord I sing to thee With pride I stand under your sign Ancient mystic symbol of truth Cast your unholy dark spells to me Cryptic goat horns within…black stars Red eyes looking inside…black stars Moon rays shining upon…black stars Chanting dark hymns under…black stars
3:55 – 6:10 beautiful!
@enoughtalkhaveatyou Nah, The Power Cosmic is badass in its own way. Bal-Sagoth are a very clever band; they realise how silly a lot of extreme metal is, and that at the end of the day “serious” black metal and “cheesy” power metal aren’t really all that different. So they just kind of embrace it and go over the top with it and have fun.
trop bien, yeah !!!
@nephildevil
good advice if ever there was any m/
@usuqamadiq lol
What the hell is wrong with this band?
Don’t get me wrong, this is supreme, still… what the fuck?
Love from 4:10 on up… Bal-Sagoth creates a story that no one else can emulate..
@enoughtalkhaveatyou yeah I know what you mean, they did let the keyboards kind of take over for the later albums, plus the music writing got much less dark and more “happy”, but still a cool band. This and Starfire are masterpieces.
Argh, I wish they hadn’t gotten all sugary and keyboard happy in their later albums… I would be embarrassed if someone caught me listening to The Power Cosmic.
play ur kids a nice bal sagoth story b4 they go to sleep 😀
Lemuria is the name of a hypothetical lost continent located in the Indian and/or Pacific Oceans. It was first hypothesized in the 19th century, but it has been rendered obsolete by new studies of plate tectonics. But fantasy and occult writers still use it often, like Atlantis, Mu, Hyperborea, etc. 🙂
Fuckin KILLER…Really great shit, the whole album just makes me envision being in the castle on the album cover..
really good shit
@minabahamut LOL, ok, maybe a not so clever idea xD
@MariusMMS well its a good idea searching games of conan to find out about Valusia hahahahahahhahahahahhaha good luck on playing!
@minabahamut Cool 😀 I will google it ^^ But there is a game of Conan also, maybe there is something about Valusia there 😀
@MariusMMS well i found out some info at wikipedia just go and search for Lemuria atlantis or Valusia.i ve seen on movies that conan was from Valusia but i don t know if thats true though, on the other hand none could possibly know more about the times of atlantis and the seven kingdoms.it may be just fairytale but its fantastical to know even if it is.
@minabahamut Seriously? Conan? Can you tell me more, it was very interesting actually, since I have tried to find out something about Atlantis, but I’ve never heard about Valusia?
@MariusMMS Lemuria was one of the 7 kingdoms with Atlantis and Valusia
(from where Conan the barbarian was)or so they say.none knows for sure
@daemonesc bands like bal-sagoth have fusional elements their music is
mixed with death,black,epic,symphonic etc it should be not labeled like that
because they are trying just to create music not be labeled like that.they have
black-death and epic influences so just leave it at that their music is
important not the genre
one of the best bands in their kind with character , unique music, feeling and of course synthesis full of music complexity,theory and death influence.as for the lyrics just remarkable images and poetry, darkness as it should be.complexity yet simplicity lies within this cd.black death epic in all its glory eras of 1990!
Certain aspects of their style changed between this album and Starfire Burning, but they still kept that epic story-telling style throughout all 6 albums, even if the deep growling voice no longer was done. Love this band in all its glory and power.
Bal Sagoth rapes mothers since early 90s!!!
Such a great album. I love the death metal aspects combining with the more black metal parts, the epic synths, and the lyrics and vocals are so awesome. Great guitar riffs here, too! Hail Bal Sagoth!
When did i blame Wiki? lol
@GTASbo0mst1ck Once again, don’t blame wikipedia for your mistakes 😛
