Can anyone define Hmong Christian?
@oonfyang is right, we Hmongs shouldn’t fight over this, we have been divided enough throughout the world, Hmong Christians please try and understand that we Hmong shamans are born with what we have and we cherish like how you cherish God, please don’t go around converting or brainwashing our Hmongs, if they choose to be Christians they will come to you regardless.
for every hmong people out there… we are hmong and we should know that our religion has come a long way here. for the others who did convert to be christian or what so ever just to let you know that whatever you had gone to believe is on you… don’t come around telling the other rest of the hmong that your religion is better because at one point your family was apart of this… this is who we are and this is who we are going to be… be proud of what you’ve got and don’t let it die down..
Here’s something funny, my dad is a shaman but he would send us children off to Sunday school because the ‘church people’ wanted us to. I always thought it was fun because there’s lots of singing and crafty stuff to do. But that was the extent of that.
@oonfyang but you gotta know that our culture is disappearing. i personally believe that hmong people who are christians are just too lazy to know and learn the hmong culture.
you all should be ashamed of yourselves for fighting over this subject. from what i understand is that not only are we losing an important part of what defies who we are but everything about us. from our language to our clothings. so please… who cares if koj mus tshawj es kuv coj dab… yag peb tsis tuav peb caj pev ceg… lub npe hmoob yuav poob. txawm tseeg dab tsi log txob sib ntxub… Hmoob thiaj li yuav sawv ua ib txig nrog luag muaj npe.
All christian want to do is to speak out there and tell them stuff that are true. Although some christian are not really christian, they make the christian worst by telling them false subject.
For me I dont know a lot but I do know little about everything that school and church had taught me.
Orangeguy559 is funny lol
All dumb ass can go to church…n get rip off by some idiot who thinks hes god helper, while the pastor is living off ppl money every week. and all he does is give a bitch ass speech n says amen…lol wha bunch of Fags…
that is your opinion. you’re entitled to it. debating wont get anywhere since (most) (traditional) hmong are very stubborn people.
Yes, our language does represent some aspects of Hmong culture, but not to the extent that Shamanism does. Hmong culture is shaman-centric. It is not “mainstream” religion, it’s a reflection of a way of life that the Hmong have lived with for thousands of years. You miss my point. I am not going to compare the two “religions”. What I am merely pointing out is that one shouldn’t so easily forget or admonish Hmong “cultural values”. It deserves acknowledgment and respect in its own rights.
it is our language that represents us. shamanism is just the mainstream “religion” we’ve followed for so long…reason being…the Hmong knew no other religion.
they arent forcing anyone. those who choose to convert do so willingly. hate those who convert, not the religion they convert to.
there was God before Christ. before Christ is just before he was sent down and died.
deity is not a shaman term. it’s a confucian term.
I don’t hate on my Hmong Christians. I love them each individually as much as I love any other. I do however believe that Shamanism is the center of the Hmong culture/pride and acts as a source of identity for our people. It’s the only thing that distinguishes us as uniquely Hmong. Shamanism treats even those who don’t believe in it. Christianity has good intentions in uniting people of all backgrounds but historically it’s never been a part of our Hmong history until near the Vietnam War era.
these christians are just destroying our religion. I believe, shamanism makes us hmong and if we want to lose it to become christian than mightest well not keep the name hmong. Shamanism makes us hmong and we should be proud of it…so fk these converters…
the belief is that when ur chosen to be a shaman u must do it or the consequence will be death and many young man has died because they chose to reject there Deity
dang people…people have different beliefs and religion….some people just don’t get it
tell me about, i don’t know why some of these ignorant hmong would spew ignorant comments about their ancient ways.
i hate people who try to convert ppl..we are perfect the way we are because we are HMONG bitches!!!LOL…i hate stupid dumb converters….
Chris? Or Christ?
