Transcendental Magic, its Doctrine and Ritual.
In 1861 he published a sequel, La-Clef des Grands secrets (“The key to the great mystery). Further magic works include Levi’s fables and other Symboles (stories and pictures), 1862, and La-de-EzrgIz science (the science of spirits) , 1865. In 1868, he wrote Le Grand Arcane, OU L’Occultisme Dévoilé (great secret, or Occultism Unveiled), which, however, was only published posthumously in 1898.
Levi’s version of magic became a great success, especially after his death. It’s spiritualism was popular on both sides of the Atlantic with 1850’s contributed to its success. His magical teachings were free from bigotry evident, even if they are still quite dark, he did not sell and does not purport to inititate some ancient or fictitious secret society. He incorporated the Tarot cards in its magic system, and as a consequence Taro was an important part of the paraphernalia of Western magicians. It is a profound effect on the magic of Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Aleister Crowley and then, and this was mainly due to this influence that Levi in history as one of the main founders of the twentieth century revival of magic.
