The second season is characterized by the series’ writers mantra; “Charmed is a show about three sisters who just happen to be powerful witches, not three witches who happen to be sisters”. A large proportion of the show is dedicated to the sisters everyday lives and relationships and the battle to keep their identities secret and prevent their supernatural activities from impacting on their day to day lives.
The formula had proved to be extremely successful and enabled the writers, directors and producers to gradually build on the sisters powers and magic, while coming to terms with the realization that there lives had been changed forever by the discovery of the Book of Shadows and the destiny they had inherited.
Charmed season 2 features mainly on the complications and issues surrounding the sisters busy daily lives and the difficulty in keeping their true identity separate from their every day lives.
As in the first season, Phoebe, Prue and Piper soon discovery there are many evil beings operating in the world and which is now obvious to them as they become more attuned to magic and their powers.
They also continue to discover that these demons, warlocks and other evil entities will stop at nothing to hunt down the charmed ones and steal their powers.
Many of the episodes focus on how these issues impacted on the sister’s daily lives and their struggles to overcome them.
The dark and dangerous threat of the demonic forces that oppose them was much less obvious then in the following six seasons, when the menace of these beings becomes much more evident and central to Charmed themes and
