Jack Kornfield’s meditation center asks for no money AT ALL. for attending any retreat or talk at jack kornfield’s meditation center, whether lead by himself or another teacher, all costs go toward maintaining the facilities. NONE of the teachers, cooks, repair people, cleaning people, or office workers make a single dollar. they operate the whole thing voluntarily. please compare good institutions like Spirit Rock against Deepak. make no doubt about it, deepak is a scam.
if you look at deepak’s schedule for his “classes,” they mainly involve getting sauna treatment. which of course will lead to temporary relaxation. not to mention he charges $3500-$4000 per week to listen to him talk. not to mention he doesn’t engage people in dialogue, but merely talks to them and spits out his “wisdom,” then sends them off to a sauna and jacuzzi to feel like they got so much benefit from his teachings.
