Question by Desiree: Does Christianity over inflate sex and make people think that it is mysterious, taboo and magical?
Christians keep going on and on about sex and they have been doing this for over a thousand years but it hasn’t made society any better. If anything, it has made it worse, right? If Christians would just shut the hell up about sex then would the rate of sex crimes, sexual dysfunction, sexually transmitted disease and unwanted pregnancies go down?

Abstinence only education leads to higher teen pregnancy rates, I know that much.
Well yes, sex is just a basic biological function. Nothing really taboo or special about it.
Making people afraid of something like sex is just another one of their mind-control practices, it has nothing to do with wanting anything good for society. If they can make people afraid and ignorant, it’s easy to control them.
Uh…no. Christians say that sex before marriage is wrong so I don’t see how saying that makes the rate of sex crimes higher. Perhaps there are some rebellious teenagers who have sex explicitly because they’ve been told not to, but ultimately people are gonna do what they want regardless of what other people tell them.
They attach this “shame” factor to it. Don’t think sexual thoughts, don’t have sex before marriage, sleep in separate beds from the wife like it’s the 50s. They only suppress what’s natural, and that’s where the catholic molestation scandals come from.
God wants us to have intercourse and fill the world, but sex should only be within marriage. Otherwise it is a sin.
I don’t think it’s the Xians fault on STD’s and unplanned pregnancies.
But sex is magical isn’t coitus, and it’s ending with orgasm one of the greatest experiences one can enjoy, and even more if it is with someone one loves?
…
Back to the question, Xians need to hold on to sexuality ’cause it is a way to control people. Everybody has sexual impulses since we are animals and we have instincts. So by holding on to sexuality, they assure people will always come back and confess. Look at the catholics!
No, they take it as being a sacred act that has a divine purpose, and should not be defiled.
Did you smack your head off something today?
Maybe if you quit thinking the crotch is all there is to life, maybe THEN the STD’s and pregnancies would go down….
People don’t have to be Christian to be a rapist or sexually disfunctional….That’s a human problem…Not a religious one..
Not sure which Christians you float with….I haven’t heard that discussion in ages.
Good luck with whatever you’re trying to get at.
Cheers!
Yes.
Apart from those you have listed, there is also a multi billion dollar industry that produces, amongst other things, movies, magazines and online sites of an “adult” nature.
Let’s face it, there’s big money in the taboo, the “naughty”.
That apple in Eden isn’t the only forbidden fruit.
No, Christianity says nothing about sex beyond it is for the marriage bed, not mysterious or taboo, or magical. If everyone thought that way, all the sex crimes and wanted pregnancy would be gone, as would STDs! Sexual dysfunction would matter less if at all.
sex IS magical when it’s with your spouse
rate of sex crimes — since 79.9% of child abusers are MARRIED
7 out of 10 rapists have been in jail before
sexual dysfunction – in what respect?!!?
STDS – have sex with your spouse and you’re free and clear
unwanted pregnancies – again – sex with your spouse all but 2-3 days a month and then you can be frisky in other ways and…. no worries
some people don’t have to hump like dogs…. they are humans, have a brain and use it!
Of course they do. Think about it, our bodies practically REQUIRE sexual release, perhaps an evolutionary mechanism to fuel procreation? All the church has done is repress people. Can’t have sex, can’t masturbate. The fact is, they make a mockery of sex, like its some terrible thing. Blinds people from the true beauty it can really be. If people consider sex JUST a way to make children. Ugh…I hate religion. Its fucked us over since its birth.
