Question by D.A. S: Don’t Muslims worship the same God as Christians?
Many Christians accept the Muslim claim that we both worship the same God. They claim that they call him Allah, while we call him God.
The problem with this is two-fold. First, history and archeology show clearly that Allah was worshipped as a pagan moon god long before Mohammed came on the scene. Robert Morey, author of The Islamic Invasion, explains: “Islam’s origins have been traced back by scholars to the ancient fertility religion of the worship of the moon god which was always the dominant religion of Arabia. The moon god was worshipped by praying toward Mecca several times a day, making an annual pilgrimage to the Kabah which was a temple of the moon god, running around the Kabah seven times, caressing an idol of a black stone set in the wall of the Kabah, running between two hills, making animal sacrifices, gathering on Fridays for prayers, giving alms to the poor, etc. These were pagan rites practiced by the Arabs long before Muhammad was born.”
“What religion today practices the pagan rites of the moon god? Islam! This explains why the crescent moon is the symbol of Islam. It is placed on top of mosques and minarets and displayed on hats, flags, rugs, amulets and even jewelry. Every time you see the Muslim symbol of a crescent moon, you are seeing the ancient symbol of the moon god.”
Second, if you read the Qur’an’s description of Allah, and read the Bible’s description of God, it becomes obvious you are reading about two different persons. Allah orders his followers to kill those who deny Islam, while God instructs us to love our enemies. Allah had no son while God sent His Son to die for sinful men. Allah is “unknowable” while God seeks a personal relationship with His creation, man.

Since the Qur’an contains our only revelation about Allah, they will be forced to look there as their authority. The Qur’an specifically denies the deity of Christ! All Christian witness ends right there.

You seem to have answered your own question, but was it then really a question?
Anyway, hopefully any thinking person will read this and be moved to get the book you have named to read further for a better understanding.
Yeah, I’ve got to agree with you. I used to say it was the same God until I started to read more of the Koran. I’ve read up to Surah 25 so far, and I can’t hardly believe the difference.
I used to think that all those verses people used against the religion of Islam were just quoted out of context, like some people do to the Bible. But I’ve discovered that with these verses, Muhammad then moved on to other subjects, so OBVIOUSLY these verses AREN’T being quoted out of context.
I’ll continue to study this. I haven’t completely made up my mind yet.
Arabs -before Prophet Mohammed(pbuh)-worshipped many Gods as to make them near to Allah- who was first worshipped by Abraham (pbuh)and his son Ishmael (pbuh)-as they believed Allah wants someone between Him and them,but this is not right.Then -as I think- they named-wrongly- one of these Gods after Allah.
Your source Dr. Robert Morey is a lying, anti-muslim stooge. He used deceit and unscholarly manner in the book that you refered to. If his hypothesis is true that Allah is a moon-god, I ask you why would still the BIBLE SCHOLARS use the word and name ALLAH to refer to God in many of their Bible Translations like in Arabic, Turkish, Albanian, Bahasa Melayu and Bahasa Indonesia and even in Roman script Sudanese Bible? The Arab Christians and Sephardic Jews are using the name Allah for God for thousands of years, then suddenly in 21st century a pseudo-scholar like Morey appears and tell them that they are worshipping a moon-god? That’s pathetic!!! There were literally thousands of Christian and Jewish bible scholars in the annals of history who were very critical of islam but no one put forward this ridiculous hypothesis of Allah being a moon-god! You mean to say Morey is more intelligent than the past and even present bible scholars? You are giving the fool much credit. Even your fellow christians are ashamed with what he wrote. This pure hypocrisy. In the West people like you and Morey are shouting at the top of your voices that Allah is not the God of the Bible but in the East, you are using the name Allah in your bible translations, in your Christian literatures, in your liturgy and even in your churches. So which is which?
Please before you believe something, make extra effort to read more and study better. It does not mean that somebody with a DR. before his name automatically tells the truth.

I am I Christian and I do not claim that Muslims worship the same God. Allah is a false god. He is not the God of the Jews & Christians. At best, allah doesnt even exist and at worst he is a demon decieving people into hell.
I don’t know. Do they? Those who believe that Jesus is God, or the son of God, obviously are not worshipping the same God as we Muslims! Those Christians who think that Jesus was a Prophet..like my mother..are worshipping the same God.
There is tremendous ignorance about Islam amongst both Muslims and Non-Muslims. Since there is so much ignorance amongst us Muslims about our own Faith, then we really shouldn’t be upset with the ignorance of Non-Muslims.
