The plot of the series revolves around the life of Tony Soprano who is the leader of a mob that functions in New Jersey and the show is about his professional life and how he balances that with his family life which he tries keeping separate as much as possible. The show is appealing for its originality, its perfection in the way that it is shot and executed and also because of the fact that the show employs some actors especially the leading cast that seems to be the best cast that American television has ever seen or at least rarely sees.
This highly successful drama series has won numerous Emmy Awards and also many Golden Globes; and very rightly so and if you have seen it then you know exactly what we are talking about. The characters that the show revolves around; Tony himself though the leader of a deadly mob is also quite ordinary trying to balance his life between his family and career; his dutiful wife who has been suffering too long being married to a gangster and thus their marriage is quite turbulent in itself. There is also his daughter who is a rebel and a teenage son who seems to hate himself and his life. Besides this there are also other characters who make the series entertaining such as Tony’s mother who he tries to move into an oldage home; there are also other members in his gang who hate his guts and his success and also his nephew with his crazy ways. The ever looming fact that the cops are closing in on Tony and his gang is a constant shadow over the series and the chase and the run and the gore and the ordinary are what make this series such a critical and a commercial success.
