the birthing… even though at the time they were godly…anymore than it is necessary to stand against all things constituting uncircumcision. It is obvious, from Paul’s statement in 2 Corinthians 5:17, that all the old things, including the old natural birthing of the human being and all the laws and indulgences, were a part of the school program which was to bring us to Christ. These things are passed away because not only do they not fit into the new reality, but also they are absolutely unnecessary. Once we see Christ as our only life, He is all in all. This cannot and must not become just a statement based on a verse of Scripture, but is the very heartbeat of the new reality of the Christ-Life.
I ask again, what is this new-creation-race being? Sad to say, many believers even astute Bible scholars, see this new convert as simply improving the old being. In no way is the new being a renewal of the old, which has been corrupted, distorted, split and almost destroyed. Salvation does not destroy the old creation… that is done at the cross… but literally replaces it. This exchange is vividly brought about by a heavenly Father who births a new nature in the believer by placing His own seed in him. This is not renewal of spirit. This is a birthing, which is bran-new, fresh and instaneous.
