As smart creatures, we humans observe the past, are conscious of the present, and are especially interested in the future. They felt that the destiny of every person was decided by capricious goddesses. Throughout the ages, millions have tried to peer into the future by consulting what they perceived as being divine. Take the ancient Greeks as an example.
