Question by The Ghurag: Have the Red Hot Chili Peppers made their mark in rock music?
So a few days ago, RHCP was named as a finalist for induction into the rock and roll hall of fame. RHCP has been a trademark in alternative rock, fusing funk elements with rock, and releasing the critically acclaimed Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Californication.
But…have they really influenced many modern artists? And how come no notable band has made a cover of one of their songs?

They are so unique that nobody can cover their songs while doing them justice. Absolutely, they belong in the hall of fame.

I like my stuff pretty hard, but I really do enjoy where the Peppers take me. They made their mark by being so unique. Anthony K. basically raps and gets away with it
They have absolutely made their mark, and they’ve more than earned it too. Nobody has covered their songs because who could pull it off and still feel good about themselves. The instruments could be learned, yes, but nobody can sound like Anthony Kiedis. Any cover would be an insult.
Maybe they are unique? I love RHCP..and I feel that they deserve to be inducted into the rock & roll hall of fame.
i would celebrate if they made it into the hall of fame by listening to their music for a whole week, i love the RHCP they have made a big fan out of me, my favorite band is nirvana, but the RHCP are one of my favorites, they are so unique, its like, what band can cover their songs? just imagine the green day lead singer rapping, it doesnt fit well does it? lol. by the way i just used green day as an example, pretty hard to compare RHCP to another band when RHCP have a sound ive never heard from any other band
