Spirituality is found everywhere. It is no respecter of beliefs.
Give your answer to this question below!
Agnostic – One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
Atheist- One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods.
Spirituality- The state, quality, manner, or fact of being spiritual.
You sure Spirituality is the word your looking for ?
Spirituality usually means someone who believes in spirits and ghosts…or someone who might believe in a specific faith, though rather loosely, and prefers not to cling to the religious aspects of that belief system. Agnosticism usually refers to the belief in a higher power, though not necessarily a Monotheistic deity, such as the One I believe in also known as Yahweh. Atheism is when a person does not believe in a higher power at all.
Spirituality means having personal relationship with God, and I guess agnosticism is a middle ground between theism and atheism, and atheism is nothing but not believing in the existence of God
I feel a non-physical connection with my surroundings, so spirituality is a nice term for that. I’ve always heard agnosticism is about a need for proof of a god or spirit. Atheism simply believes there is no god or spirit.
Hi….
Agnostics don’t believe there is enough “proof” in either direction for God. I would call an Agnostic a “fence sitter”…. not willing to make a decision for Christianity or Atheism etc. He will say “there MAY be a God; sin; life after death – but there is nothing to prove there is or isn’t. He doesn’t have the faith needed to embrace Christianity.
An atheist just plain out believes there is no God thereby making the bible just “stories”.
A spiritual person can be a Christian but not necessarily. People who worship or pray to trees, rocks, clouds embrace a type of spiritualism but they are not Christians.
summing up: Agnostic – claims no proof of God / bible /Christ and is closer to an atheist than to a Believer. An Atheist just plain doesn’t believe in God. A Spiritual person can worship many things but not necessarily God / Christ.
this is a very good question and could go much further.
Spirituality is traveling the spiritual path… the path to our inner domain… our real self… the soul atman within! As per the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism… the ultimate goal of life for every soul atman… the spirit within is reaching the end of cosmic life… the 8.4 millionth manifestation!
The moment human beings reached the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)… one is considered having reached the pinnacle of spirituality… the end goal of cosmic life in all aspects! Beyond the stage of salvation there is nothing farther to achieve.
Following the path of religion… one never reaches God Almighty! Both Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana initially took the religious route… the path of Bhakti yoga! At some point path of Bhakti yoga finally merged with path of jnana yoga… the path of jnana (wisdom).
It is only following the path of jnana yoga one finally unveils the wisdom contained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism… never otherwise! Spirituality is all about reaching our own spirit… the soul atman within! Spirituality is following the path dictated by the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. Spirituality is our soul atman regaining its lost original pure pristine form.
Agnosticism is the path followed by non believers of tenets of Christianity! Unable to fathom the depth of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita… the various Hinduism scriptures, Upanishads… the Christian following that developed is termed agnostic… one who failed in ones attempts to realize truth… the existence of God!
Atheists do not believe in the existence of God at all. They do not believe that the Cosmos was created by God Almighty. According to them… the whole Cosmos simply exists. They more believe in the infinite capability of human beings… a truth that can never be belied! Human beings do have infinite capabilities… the prime reason why some gain enlightenment and salvation!
The existence of God is also a fact of life. Whether followers of agnosticism or atheists believe it or not… the cosmic truths contained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism can never be belied! Simply as one truth of life may contain many different aspects… the doctrine of Syadvada of Jainism explains it further.
When a blind holding the leg was asked to describe an elephant his belief was… elephant was like a pole… the one holding the tail described elephant as a snake or a rope! As is our perception of life… our ingrained intelligence… the wisdom assimilated… accordingly we make our surmises. Supreme of all… whether we understand it or not… the absolute truth always remains the same. More on Spirituality- http://www.godrealized.org/Spirituality.html
