Question by free:eli: How do you practice your spirituality? What is necessary everyday? ?
For me, as a Christian, I try to read my bible, but usually I pray everyday. I often wonder if it is enough. I have sometimes felt that maybe I should be a nun, or a missionary, like I have to dedicate my whole life to it to be good enough. I know that sort of contradicts the whole idea of God having grace on me through Jesus dying though. I don’t know. I’m not looking for advice, I just want to know, how do other people feel about their own spirituality. What is required of us?

    Everything and nothing.

I observe the solstices and equinoxes, i bless my home regularly and those of friends pagan and none pagan alike, i respect the religions of others as long my own is respected and i don’t try and push my choice one anyone not lover not friend not even my own child. i keep a small alter and give thanks to my gods and goddess for my life as it is

Every day, I try to make sure I “walk my talk” and act in accordance with the things I believe. The most important spiritual thing for me is to put my beliefs into action. I pray whenever I feel moved to and I pray for all sorts of reasons, even just a quick “thanks for the great sunset.” I don’t force it, I do what I feel, and there are times when I go without praying. I see many people refreshed and renewed by some sort of daily observance or meditation and I sort of envy that, but it just doesn’t fit who I am.

I don’t know how to answer your last question, it’s a very profound one.

Edited to add: I observe the solstices and equinoxes too in my own way, and while I believe in God I don’t feel that He minds my acknowleging the changing seasons in ways that make me happy.

Edited again to add that yes, I can thank God for a nice sunset without believing that He did it magically — I’m expressing my enjoyment of the beauty in that way.
