Salvia Divinorum is a green plant native to Southern Mexico. The Mazatec tribes of Mexico use this legal substance that holds a strong psychoactive compound known as Salvinorin. Traditionally, the Mexicans especially the shamans use this herb for curative and divine purposes. Salvia has been portrayed to cause divine intoxication, which allows the healer to trance and take a trip into the supernatural world searching for the cure for the patient. The usual dose of smoking Salvia leaves is 0.25 to 0.5 grams, but dosages may vary according to the effect on each individual. Salvia takes effect almost instantaneously, in a matter of a minute and rapidly accelerating that lasts up to 5 to 10 minutes, then gradually fading out over the next 20 to 30 minutes.
