Question by lindseyxray: i need some information on crystals, please.?
i’m just now looking at crystals and getting into them.. thinking about adding some to my home, maybe even in my office at work, etc. i had never realized that they have energy and metaphysical properties.. i thought people just bought them because they were pretty! (hey, i’m only 24, i’ve still got a lot to learn) 🙂
im seeing a lot of astrological information that goes with these crystals… does that mean that that particular crystal only “works” with a person of that astrological sign?? i don’t understand it.
also, what are the best/ most popular crystals, and does anyone have a short breakdown on what each crystal is used for? any information at all would be helpful! Thank you!! 🙂

You can find crystals and stones at your local wiccan/pagan/spiritual shop. or on online stores like www.sacredmists.com which is my personal favorite.
No, it isn’t required that you match your astrological sign with crystals. Your Sign does have its color, its stone, its season, its direction, etc. This means that those things are special to you. but it doesn’t mean your are limited to them.
Like me, I am a Pisces and my direction is West, but I prefer to work with the East (because I am on the east coast, and the water is in the direction 🙂
My personal favorite is Rose Quartz. It has a very postive energy, good for healing, and for inner peace. I usually carry a small piece around with me everywheres.

Any gemstone can work with any person. Some people’s personal energies are better suited for specific stones, but you can get the benefits from any stone, no matter who you are.
There are hundreds of stones out there, and thousands of uses for them. If you really want to learn, I suggest buying The Book of Stones by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian. Its a wonderful resource. There’s also a book called the Crystal Bible by Judy Hall, which is another good source.
When getting a new stone, it’s important to cleanse it so the energies are pure and untainted. Also, try to work with only one stone at a time for maximum results. That doens’t mean you can’t place various ones at your home and work, but if you want to integrate the energy into your personal energy body, I suggest carrying one stone with you (and only 1 stone) for a few weeks, cleansing it weekly.

Merry Meet.. and welcome..There are many different things you can use each crystal for… and yes your sign does make the energy stronger for some crystals but that doesn’t mean it won’t “work” if its not your signs crystal.

There are many others. for example, the quartz crystal- it’s a handy “do it all ” crystal. if you can’t find one of the others up top, a quartz will fill in nicely.
