No, what nonsense. Who told you that?
A E Waite was an occultist (OGD) , academic and mystic who was influenced by Eliphas Levi (19th century ceremonial magician). The tarot deck was published in December 1909 by William Rider and Son of London.

The deck was the product of the collaboration between the artist, Pamela Colman Smith (b. 1878 d. 1951) and Dr Arthur Edward Waite (b. 1857 d. 1942), who were both members of the Order Of The Golden Dawn, a famous occult group of the 19th Century

They were the first tarot cards I ever used, and I have them still. They are one of the clearest and easiest to read, and the most popular tarot deck in the world, if that is a recommendation! Thye symbols are clear and easy to understand, and whilst the Tarot is intuitive, there are many many books about the RW deck to get you going!!

ps – never listen to what “some people” or “they” say, do what you’re doing now, and investigate!!

    never heard that before

No! How can a tarot deck be evil by itself? It is the power you give to it that determines whether it is ‘good’ or ‘evil’ when really, if you are using it correctly, it can’t be ‘evil’ at all ever.

Wow…don’t listen to such ignorance! There is no evil tarot deck. The ill will comes from the user. I have about 9 or 10 decks and love them all. One of these is the Rider-Waite and nothing evil has come from it.

So you just follow your heart and not allow someone else s ignorance to effect you.

I hope you find what you seek and peace to your heart.

Nope. There are stupid decks, and ridiculous decks, and lousy decks, and cheap decks that fall apart after three uses, but I haven’t see any evil decks. Unless you see earth-friendly as the cards not being made out of recycled paper and not printed with soy inks, well then it might be evil. Or if they gave you paper cuts, that would be evil. Rider-Waite is neutral ground.

You have to look at the person who says that to you and see what’s behind that reasoning. Chances are it’s 100% certain they don’t use tarot and know very little about it.

Make your own decision. These are mass produced and sold in book stores for decades, they’re cardboard and ink. NOT evil. They’re a tool to help you if you ask questions, yet the results are all based on your choice as to whether or not to believe what you get in a reading.
