Question by I’m right: Is Led Zeppelin’s song “Stairway to Heaven” about paganism?
You know, stuff like “…and it’s whispered that soon/if we all call the tune,/then the piper will lead us to reason… and a new day will dawn/for those who still long/and the forests will echo with laughter…” and then later that stuff about “…the piper’s calling you to join him…” Paganism, right? And am I right in thinking that the lady who thinks she’s buying a “stairway to Heaven” is a Christian, but the song tells her that actually “…your stairway lies on the whispering wind…” (i.e. she should become a Pagan). Or am I missing something?

Most of led zeppelin’s songs are just stoned ramblings put to a beat… I think he was trying to sound intellectual, but I’d say it’s just a neat song with great musicianship, not a threat to any religion
