Question by cchr.org: Isn’t “Spiritual” Atheism something Atheists made up to look cool?
I mean you cannot be Spiritual without believing in the metaphysics. In metaphysics there are higher dieties/intelligence. Spiritual Atheists cannot call natural or everything as God for to them there is no god. Even if they are gods/part of god. Spiritual is spirit. And spirit is soul. Its the metaphysics. Atheists just believe in science and nothing in the beyond. If they did, there would be higher intelligence and that would God. Even if it is just intelligence.
Spiritual is Spirit. Atheists believe not in the Soul.
Buddhism is not like that. They actually do not go into the whole God thing. But they believe in the metaphysics and something more intelligent. There is connection between a god belief and Buddhism.

You’re limiting your definition of spiritual. Many cultures see interpersonal interaction and humanism as a spiritual practice, the connection between each other can be a spiritual bond.
Spirituality isn’t limited to those who believe in a “higher power”. Take Buddhism for instance. Spirituality doesn’t even depend on the belief in supernatural forces. It really just depends on how the individual defines spirit.
Your version relies on a connection to what you perceive as God, which is fine. As an atheist, my version is more of an ultimate “harmonization”, with myself, my fellow people, and my earth.

I seek to serve and not exact due service;
I seek to heal, not hurt.”

Well if they have just made it up to look cool they have been continuing this lie for some time – I mean Buddhism is older than Christianity and most of them are atheists.
Atheists don’t just believe in science – some might, most might but thats irrelevant. Atheism is the lack of belief in any god or gods – nothing more, nothing less.
How many times must it be explained that YOU don’t get to tell ME what I believe.
Capische?
Well, No dude.
Let me explain.
When people say we can’t love because it is a spiritual thing well it is not, there are a seried of chemical reactions that occur in the brain, but we don’t explain the feeling we just say love.
“X chemical released enhansed my heart rate, body temperature, and dopamine was released.”
But “I love you” is easier to say.
I’ve never called myself spiritual. Stop generalizing.
I don’t see how metaphysics necessitates a higher power.
I am not spiritual, I am animal.
It sounds like you are pretty desperate for us to believe in god
The questions of souls, an afterlife, and gods are all mutually exclusive. Atheists can believe in souls, afterlives, but not gods.
“Atheists just believe in science and nothing in the beyond.”
No, atheists just don’t believe in a god or gods.
Are you new here? Do you have The Google on one of your Interwebs?
Spiritual: Adj.: characterized by or suggesting predominance of the non-physical; ethereal or delicately refined.
You’re apparently wrong about what it means to be spiritual, necessarily. One CAN be ‘spiritual’ without believing in metaphysics.
And thus, you have failed to make a functional point.
metaphysics does not imply a “god”… just that physics doesn’t adequately describe reality
Some people believe that instead of a god there is merely a lifeforce that connects us. Sure it sounds corny, but honestly, so does the idea of God. The point is that you can be spiritual without believing in God. So spiritual atheism is entirely possible.
