Brief History; By the time ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’ album had finally been released in 1994, Mayhem was already known for being the originators of the infamous Norwegian Black Metal Scene… also having legacy and history since 1984, with their swedish vocalist committing suicide with a shotgun wound to the head, guitarist Euronymous being stabbed to death by bass guitarist Varg Vikernes, along with Church burnings and influencing legions of bands from Norway and the World! 1993 Lineup (De Mysteriis’) Euronymous: Guitars Hellhammer: Drums Blackthorn: Guitars Varg Vikernes: Bass Attila: Vocals Lyrics written by: Dead, 1990 Vocals done by: Attila, 1993 The bloody history from the past deceased humans now forgotten An age of legends and fear a time now so distant Less numbered as they were their lives so primitive and pagan superstitions were a part of the life so unprotected in the dark nights Pagan fears The past is alive The past is alive Woeful people with pale faces staring obsessed at the moon some memories will never go away and they will forever be here

@popigru dann geh wieder 50 Cent hören, Untermensch.
i love immortal
i respect darkthrone
i like dimmu borgir
but this is the best black metal album ever and ever and ever
!!!the atmosphere the rythm everything !!!!
@xerxesmv absolutely, I wouldn’t say Psychedelic, because he was no hippy, but the guitar definitely invokes “imagery” Like his own corpse crawling out of the grave.
His spirit lives on he’s more popular than he was over 15 years ago
3:45 – 5:05 = Diabolical Magnificence
Hail Dead & Euronymous!!!!
MayheM’s best song by far in my opinoin
schrott der textinhalt und schrott die musik grunzende schweine kann ik auch im stall sehen und die schmecken wenigstens
@Paedicat
Lol that’s funny, I didn’t know it’s an album too.
@OpethToolMetallica Heaven shall burn, the Marduk album, not the band
@HappyThurstoN
Heaven Shall Burn isn’t even black metal lol, it’s thrash/death/metalcore.
Mayhem are one of the greatest black metal bands in the world (with Burzum & Darkthrone), but don’t say Marduk suck. U should listen to “Panzer division Marduk”, Nightwing” & “Heaven shall burn”, it’s very good black metal too, but of course it’s only sweden lol.
This song got me into Black Metal.
marduk??, what is that shit, “brutal black metal”, that really sucks, it is an insult for the true black metal, hail mayhem
Awsome video
@heywtfayla: Sorry about the double post. Also I would suggest depressive black metal such as Xasthur and Nortt, but I don’t want to be responsible for the consequences. You don’t want to be like the people nodding off next to you at drone/funeral doom concerts.
@heywtfayla: There are too many to list here, so I will only list what I can off the top of my head.
Darkthrone
Sargeist – Satanic Black Devotion
Behexen – Rituale Satanum
And a bit different in style:
Ulver – Nattens Madrigal
Marduk – Heaven Shall Burn
Fimbulwinter – Servants of Sorcery
Ildjarn – Det Frysende Nordariket
Havohej – Dethrone the Son of God
Les Légions Noires, the “kvlt” of the “kvlt”.
And any generic black metal album with a black cover.
HUMANS NOW FORGOTTEN
@msh2thsoundofdeath hehe you beat me to it, was going to type this (in caps, but that’s just a minor detail) 🙂
black metal bands id recomend if ur new to the genre an like good kvlt metal are… Mayhem of course, Gorgoroth, Darkthrone, Satyricon, 1349, Immortal, Carpathian Forest is pretty good too, Morbid is good as well.. just search around for some
I’ve listened to all of Varg’s songs (apart from the synth only stuff) and it’s pretty good, what other bands would you recommend?
I’m really into Raw Black Metal (Early Emperor, Gorgoroth etc)
@heywtfayla if you like mournful screams of pain of anguish that has feel to it u must listen 2 burzum – Key to the gate. And read the lyrics and type me back if u like it and i can supply u with more bands
@msh2thsoundofdeath some memories will never go away and they will always be here
