Question by Wicked Warrior: My pagan friends, Last Rites for a cat?
Although Bast has never called to me, I cannot but fell Her near at this time. I have no tools or even candles where I am (that’s a long story.) Tux (Talisman he told me to call him) was a magic cat from the moment I met him. How should I properly bless this animal who passed to the Goddess this cold winter morning?

I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your pet
and companion…

Most animals instinctively deal well with death
and return to the Goddess very reliably… the
very small number of animal spirits (compared
to human) remaining after death tells us that.
It’s almost certain that Tux has found peace
with the Goddess and a place at Her side…
but, it would not hurt to hold a small memorial
service, just to make sure. You don’t need any
tools. Just open a dialog with the Goddess and
ask Her to accept Tux’s spirit… if She has not
done so already.
