Question by Your Demise: No Mom,I am not about to slit my wrists?
I recently turned punk. Or more I really liked the idea,started buying the clothing,listing to alternitinve rock/metal cds etc. I had always liked the darker aspect of things and it seemed natural. This pushed my mom to the edge but what broke her is when I started getting intrested in Wicca. Wicca is an Earth based pagan religion that was legillized in the 1980s. My mom is catholic,but we never go to church or anything. I am still in school and my mother keeps on wanting to have ‘talks’ with me. She thinks I am going to turn numb and start cutting myself,or become a drug addict. Worst of all after over a DECADE of not going to church she suddenly wants to go. How do I explain to my mother about my new found religous beliefs and the peolpe I hang out with? (punks)

Just tell her everytime she suggests that you go to church tell you don’t believe in that.

Tell her mom this is who I am you cannot change me so stop – I’m not a drug addict so don’t worry.
As far as church goes when you go to confession tell the priest everything you posted here and see what he says.

just sit down and be honest with her. and if i might add –you should be glad that you have a mom who cares instead of one of these mothers who doesn’t give a rats @ss about what their kids are doing, as long as its away from them.
Well I kind of know how you feel. I’ve been going punk lately and its ard because people get it confused with Emo or Goth. We haven’t been going to church for a long time and now I’m not sure what I believe. I think you should tell her this is what you want and you can’t be Catholic if you don’t believe in it. Ask her to let you see what Wicca is more about and search deeper into it. Maybe she’ll understand.

talk to her and be honest, and tell her of what you believe, but that you will be careful of your actions, and will not do nothing wrong.
