It’s a bit of cultural misunderstanding
“pagan/heathen” in this sense is used by certain Rastafarians as a code for traditional Christians hence all the talk about congregations etc.
I don’t think they care for the other kind of heathens/pagans either but in Jamaica a country thats 90% or more Protestant Christian (and Rastas make a tiny minority) thats who they have particular animosity towards.
