@Nickelback9293 You should tell him to post some tabs then lol. He’s a really good guitarist. I’m not to interested in the Pagan thing, but musically these guys are great. I’m trying to learn the whole song by ear and all the dang tapping in the solo is so confusing.

it’s not hard when you play it on the same instrument.. but to transcribe it in an instant.. that IS very impressive.. from guitar to piano.. without looking at what the person is playing.. all by ear.. and he can do petrucci as well he did Under a Glass Moon, and Learning to live.. guitar parts and keyboard.

that’s not necessarily true, you can learn any song by ear. infact you can learn ALL songs by ear, you just need to know alot about music and be good at it.. for ex. my high school music teacher.. he palys harpsichord and when we had our exam.. we brought in our fav. songs. and one guy brought Hangar 18 – Megadeth.. my teacher heard it once and he played the whole song on the piano even solo’s.. he taught us a whole bunch of crap and how the little chords under the solo sound like james bondlol

struven1 if you can learn songs like that by ear…. awesome and i’m not being sarcastic. as for tabs they can be helpful and of course i can’t learn shit by ear but recently i’ve taken to writing my own material. as for his technique, it’s not perfect but prob bettr than minenot sure. the tone is wat truly kills the video btw directed again towards struven learn something from vai by ear because i feel malmsteen employs uses runs whereas vai uses incredible note selection. pagans mind is cool
Struven1, lol ya sure and i learned all songs of John petrucci such as Glasgow kiss only from looking lol go lie to someone else theres no way u can learn all the speed parts only from listening and even if u do its must take like few good months

Struven1 True but theres some songs that u can never learn by ear such as Yngiwe Malmsteen-Far Beyond the sun, or Michael Angelo-speeds kills and many more songs

Bad Technique… That song is easy. I did the whole song by ear. I guess you have learned it by tabs…? Stop using it, if you are. The only thing you learn from tabs, is where to put your fingers. At the end, you cannot learn songs by ear. Thats an advice:)
