FML, if there’s any possibility of people arguing on YouTube between one band and the next, everyone jumps for it. DT and PM are both prog, yes. I personally enjoy PM more, however opinions are like assholes, everyone’s got one. That’s what individuality is, liking something the next person might not.
In my opinion, yes they do. There’s nothing you will say that will change my mind about it. DT might be music gods for many, but I find they’re good but overrated.
First, I’m not a proghead. I’m into a bunch of different styles. Not only metal. Second, DT does have a couple albums that don’t really sound forced, their 2-3 first which I think are amazing. The rest however sounds forced most of the time and lacks originality.
Apart from this phenomenal song, this video is pretty inane shit.

Try to listen to a whole dream theater album at a time and see if you have the same opinion after that
