Question by hadarp2: Californication or Blood Sugar Sex Magik?
I prefer Cali. Because it has a little of everything – some funk, some alt rock, some ballads… everything. it’s my favourite album EVER.
I lovew BSSM but cali is my baby!
what’s your opinion?
and by the way, does anyone have any idea why the wrote “Magik” with K and not with C?

californication is one of my all time favourite cd’s ever.
I’ll go with Californication – it is more amped…..and Chad smith kicks it!

BSSM – it was their last good album.

The funky stuff is better, and there are some really good songs.
From the beginning of Power of Equality, I’m ready for some awesome music. And If You Have To Ask, has a perfect chorus.
Breaking the Girl is one of the best songs on the album, I love it.
The Bass intro the Funky Monks is pure Flea goodness, and it just gets better.
There isn’t one bad song on the album, just a few that aren’t as good, or as memorable. The only thing I can’t stand is the CONSTAND mofo swearing. It doesn’t need to happen to practicaly every song. It gets annoying.
But the musicianship is INCREDIBLE.
Oh yeah, we don’t count They’re Red Hot as a song 😉

Definitely BSSM all the songs sound different. I wasn’t there last good CD because Californication was still good in it’s own way but BSSM seems to have more songs on it that were better. Even the ones that didn’t make the radio.

the rhcp have been around a long time now i like the older one however they still do some good stuff these days to. thier early punk is kind of to hard for my liking . but bssm is a classic with very few filler songs
i like both…
red hot chili peppers are amazing
their best music came out before half of you were even born
Catholic School Girls Rule and True Men Don’t Kill Coyote are their best songs, don’t even talk to me about this modern day crap they’re churning out. They lost it after they did that Coneheads movie song and Slovak killed himself.
Both are good, but BSSM has more funk energy.
Also, note the cover art for the album. Bound to be a classic in the years to come.
