Question by Myrko: How do you see spirituality and the drive to success go together?
I noticed that being more spiritual lessens the drive to succeed in worldly endeavors. If you begin to develop more compassion and see yourself as one with all others, the need to stand out and get ahead seems to vanish. But to create something of value and something outstanding may still be desirable.
How do you see spirituality and the drive to success go together?

What if I’m driven to be a spiritual success?
What do you think? Answer below!
Jesus said “apart from me you can do nothing, but abide in me and you shall bear much fruit.” The question for me is whether our efforts here on Earth are motivated by the love of God and neighbor, or selfishness. The only lasting good comes from God to man, and goes back from man to God. We can only hope to reflect His goodness; we have none of our own to offer.
If you focus on this temporary life, you will lose sight of eternal life. “He that would save his life shall lose it, but he that would lose his life for my sake shall find it.”
Everything that you were created to be can only be fulfilled in Christ. If its success you want, he has that to give, but if you seek success and not Him, you’ll miss it. “But seek first the kingdom of heaven and its righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you…”
Putting God first. Ones spirituality given first priority in our lives straightens all other things out.
We get the proper view of materialism. We need money to provide for our family’s needs. We do not want it to take over our lives to crowd out our family time. Children want their parents time spent with them, not the latest I Pod.
There is also nothing wrong with doing our best in whatever we do. We can at times go overboard in minutia. Putting spirituality first helps us in this as well by knowing about time limits and the need for other things to be done.
