Q&A: How long does it take for crystals to grow?

Question by calexandra100: How long does it take for crystals to grow?
I am helping my friend with a report on crystals and we cannot find how long it takes for them to grow. Please help us! Thanks!

The answe is ‘it depends’. If your growing crystals out of a hot solution, they can form vey rapidly (seconds), as fast as you can cool the solution! Cooling the solution fast will give you very small crystals though. Cooling slowly will allow large crystals to form.
