Question by Jason E Johns: Native American things to do near Orlando, Florida?
I’m going to Orlando, Florida in September 2008 and am looking for Native American things to do in the area. I’m looking for reservations, tribes, people to talk to, shamans, pow-wow’s etc. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have lived in Orlando for 24 years, and have never heard of anything Native American around here. Sorry.
Give your answer to this question below!
There is lots of history and culture here. People who live in Orlando and do not know any of this are just people who don’t really live here.
I would first check out the Central Florida History Museum. This will give you a foundation for the Native American Culture in Central Florida, their history along with information on how to get in touch with them.
Shoot arrows at all the criminals running around!
Look into surrounding towns outside of Orlando. You will probably be able to find Native American people and places that have not been “taken over”.

Here’s a link to a page about Native American history in Florida.
The page contains a link to the Seminole Tribe’s page.
