Question by darkisato: question about a native americans ?
now i was reading about a little history about shamans. due to i can’t find to much about it expt of what they have as si fi stuff i wanted to know more about how they are and the be leaves. I’ve learn some when i was in a native American boarding school but when your in 4th grade things like that don’t interest you. i was more interested in the girls and playing out in the desert. But now I’m grown and learning about this stuff. i want to learn about the shamans in north America before i go to asia and learn about there shamans and see what is the same and different.

you won’t find much about it online..nothing real anyway. due to ongoing abuses of our traditions and spirituality and ceremonies, there is an attempt at least to keep these things to ourselves.
also, we do not call these people in our nations shamans. that is the proper term for north asia though and was inaccurately applied to north america by anthropologists.
our healers and such keep to themselves within our communities. they are tied to the land in a very real sense when it comes to what they do for us. they do NOT travel the world performing ceremonies for money and anyone who does is probably a fraud.
