Question by oH, kNoW: Question for New- Agers/ Metaphysical folks- Buddhists too, why not?
IF every thought has a consequence-…every thought we have, positive or negative, has an impact on us, each other and nature and Intent is the true judge of whether something is harmful or beneficial…what does that make of me if I have explicit sexual thoughts and I have x-rated thoughts while watching porn and even of the actual porn stars?

One consequence might be that I would fall asleep while reading about it. No offense intended, but all the variations of kiss & tell just aren’t as exciting as the teller might imagine. Eventually, the whole idea might become less than exciting for you as well, & you might find other things to do, perhaps meeting people on a more real level or maybe enjoying more of a spiritual life. Who knows?

Simple answer? It means you are a sexual being.
In Buddhism, those individuals attaining for the highest goal of enlightenment are *supposed to remain celibate and attempt to curb sexual thoughts. However, for the rest of us, “The lowest part of us is still animal” as Gandhi said.
IMHO, sexual and x-rated thoughts in and of themselves are neither positive nor negative, so their outcome is generally neutral. I think if the thoughts carry feelings of shame, or of superiority/dominance, then they can become harmful, but these are things that individuals associate with the thoughts and are not inherently tied to them.
Of course, I am an unenlightened and deluded being (and one who enjoys my porn too!), so my opinions on the subject carry no weight whatsoever. Maybe you should read the link on what K.Sri Dhammananda had to say on sex and “What Buddhists Believe”?
