Religion usually has rules you have to follow, while spirituality seems to be more fluid and up to your own interpretation/exploration.

Can you see through yourself?
Religion is generally organized, and all in that religion follow the exact same beliefs. Religion is also often woshipping one, or many beings.
Spirituality is more personal. You believe what you wish to believe in your own mind, rather than following rules of other people. And you do not necessarily worship, although some people do.
I’m a spiritual atheist.
Religion is Beliefs; Spirituality is Knowledge.
your spirit is inside you, religion is outside.
religions tell you to believe this and that and are conformist.
Where as spirituality is’nt.
There’s a huge difference.
Being spiritual is basically having a belief in the supernatural or the divine, without necessarily having any rules to follow or rites to perform. Believing in ghosts, for one, is a spiritual thing that doesn’t necessarily tie into any religion.
Religion involves a specific set of beliefs, rules, histories, and rites shared with others within that religion.
All religious people are spiritual (generally), but not all spiritual people are religious. The two concepts cross over a lot, but are different things.
have you ever heard the saying that so and so does something religiously?
every morning the first thing so and so does is get a cup of coffee and every morning he does this religiously.
religion is a work not faith and no work i do can save me. only what Christ has already done on the cross.
God wants your heart not your religious things.
Peace!!
I can definately identify with you. I think there is a difference. I am spiritual but not religious. I believe being spiritual as far as my life is concerned to be me being in touch with God, the universe, myself and others around me. I used to identify myself as Christian but I don’t so much anymore b/c I don’t really believe in a lot of the views that the Bible teaches so I don’t follow the religion to a tee. I believe Jesus Christ is one of the greatest ppl ever talked about and we should all follow his example of how to deal with others in the world. But I also believe that ppl like Buddha, Ghandi, Mother Theresa, all had something to offer us as well. So I just try to treat ppl how I want to be treated, and stay positive to attract positivity. I try to appreciate life to the fullest and let others live their lives as well.
Spiritual enlightenment is like the perfect sneeze.
You’re not quite sure what’s going on with your face..but something’s not ‘right’; your left nostril is dripping and your eyeball is doing that weird twitching thing.
And then boom, you sneeze, ahhhhhhh bliss!
But if you cough right before you sneeze, trying to get every last bit of phlegm, you end up inhaling at just the wrong moment and your chewing gum gets sucked up somewhere between your nasal passage and the back of your throat.
Although satisfying the itch, the sneeze didn’t quite do it. Something’s still off; now you’ve got that damn wad of gum stuck in the back of your neck between passages and it just won’t budge.
That’s just not natural. That’s religion.
