Question by canadianbadboy: What is the spiritual meaning of physical looks?
Are people’s looks a reflection of how they have conducted their spiritual life span?
Wouldn’t it also make sense that the energy blockages (problems) we were born into and with are the ones we have failed to resolve in our past lives?
Any information or thoughts on past lives as well is appreciated!

There is no spiritual meaning of how we look. It’s more, how we take care of ourselves. God says the human body is a temple which should be kept modest and healthy.
I suppose you could honor God with your looks, as Samson did with not cutting his hair…but beyond that point, your appearance is simply a result of the gene combination of your mother and your father.

Good health and genes.
I believe that spiritual weakness or injury can manifest itself physically, but I do not believe that spiritual illness is contracted in a previous existence or “life”.
I’m a little confused as to what you are asking.
I am interpreting your question as this. A
person is not beautiful or handsome because
of their physical appearance. They are attractive
because of the good and descent qualities in
their heart.
physical appearances that are beyond our control have nothing to do with spiritual things. if somebody has no teeth and a mullet, you can tell how he conducts himself at a hockey game or at the bar, which in turn tells you something about spirituality, but making spiritual judgements about a person by physical appearances is not reliable, and will lead to errors. Ted Bundy was said to be quite handsome.
you only have one life. attend to it and don’t add imaginary causes that will not help you resolve your difficulties.
Hi Canadianbadboy,
I believe that before coming into embodiment (between “lives”) we choose which body we will use for the coming life. This has been reported thousands of times by people in for instance life-between-lives regression therapy. For info on this, see for example the books by Michael Newton “Journey of Souls” and “Destiny of Souls”.
We choose the body that is the best option for fulfilling the goals we have for the coming embodiment. When, for instance, we have had a history of judging people by their appearance, we might choose to balance that karma by embodying in a body that is not beautiful according to the current beauty standards. It is also possible that we come back as a “beautiful” person (on the outside, at least) to experience the problems associated with that body type.
But to say that people’s looks reflect how they have conducted their spiritual life span would be a form of judging by appearance. As I mentioned there can be many reasons for someone’s physical looks, most of which will be chosen by yourself before coming here (it’s always interesting to see how we forget this!).
Yes, we choose our goals in this life based on the problems not solved in the previous lives. This is done in the planning stage before coming into embodiment, assisted by our spiritual teachers.
There are many, many books written about this, mainly cases of regression hypnosis.
Beauty equals truth and is a direct representation of the underlying soul. Ugliness is a refutation in itself.
