Question by philogos82: What’s with all these strange questions about reality…?
These questions seem hopelessly muddled… I mean are we in a higher or lower reality? Are we talking about tuning into some transcendental or spiritual place? This is philosophy I thought… Doesn’t anyone read philosophy?
When Nietzsche said “God is Dead”, he didn’t just mean that Christianity is dead, or that the entire Platonic tradition is dead. He meant we CANNOT GESTURE OUTSIDE SPACE AND TIME. Metaphysics is dead. To quote Wittgenstein, “What we cannot speak about we must pass over in silence.”

Philosophy is a persons ideal… I would not dwell upon the some of the questions raised by others, but to question why others believe the question.

Is it better to quit with the rationale, however assumed and irrational, that what we do not know cannot be known? It is the nature of philosophy to seek truth… not to quote dead people. Whether or not that truth can or cannot be found can not be decided by those who have already decided to quit searching. A good philosopher would take it upon himself to think for himself about things that other philosophers believe they have already proven or disproven… instead of taking it at their word and learning nothing but what a college professor wants you to know. I dont have to know a single famous name or idea to be a philosopher… and being a historian of philosophy doesnt make me a philosopher.

Metaphysics is alive and kicking. Well at least in the outside world. The strange questions don’t seem any less muddled than usual though maybe its just you are a little better versed in the whole philosophical jargon thing.
I think it’s a troll. Whenever I see 5 questions in rapid succession that are about something very odd, I assume it’s someone who just wants to mess up the section for the rest of us.

It’s not because you’ve read a few philosophers that you don’t need to learn more. Reality has nothing strange, I guess it scares you to open your mind! And it’s philosophy to question those things, at last! In case you don’t know, it’s related to spiritual, transcendental, and broader mind as well. Now why you bring God and Christianity that would be dead? Indeed, you’re scared my friend. Then you want to keep silent what you know nothing about, then you feel safe. Fear of the unknown? Must you? No. There’s the learning channelling!
