Please ignore the watermark (the scrolling grey text at the top)! Tarot Woman, track one from the Rainbow 1976 magnum opus ‘Rising’. Written by Ronnie James Dio and Ritchie Blackmore. Why Rainbow only managed to make one decent album is beyond me. But they did (although it was short, 33:28), and this opening track has a major hold on me- you try listening to it without air drumming when Cozy comes in- i find it impossible. Awesome track, great use of keyboards in a metal context (Tony Carey). Stereo thanks to helpful YouTubers.
!!!!rip dio!!!! king of metal
This song is absolutely fantastic! One of the most incredible pieces of music I ever heard!
You know, as much as we miss Ronnie James Dio, I can imagine that he and Cozy Powell are rocking together again in Rock ‘n’ Roll Heaven.
Temon……………
Great intro!
GOD BLESS RONNIE JAMES DIO……aka: RONNIE JAMES PADAVONA, born in Portsmouth, NH. You rocked the whole fucking World!!!!!!!! <>
RITCHIE FUCKIN BLACKMORE RULES

Oh dammit, I just read RIP. I never knew. Jeez, he got me thru teens, strange how you can find strength and wisdom in listening. Rainbow inspired my imagination, taking me to distant planets and lands.
Gracias Dio por haber existido, por habernos regalado tu valiosa musica y compartido tu maravillosa voz, paz en su tumba.
Gracias Dio por haber existido y alegrar nuestras vidas, paz en su tumba.

WE LOVE YOU RONNIE!!!!!!!!!!!YOU THE KING!!!
Awesome song, that intro is nothing short of brilliant.
A BIG hero of mine… One of the great contributors to rock n roll…. R.I.P.Ronnie J, DIO!!! YOU are eternal….
One of my favorite Rainbow songs from the Dio days! The best.He will be missed.
Only decent album? Every Dio era album is amazing! I wish they had made many, many more over the years because this music will never be equaled.
Don’t get me wrong, i love punk, but this was the kind of band that punk rose up against. Richie is just so special, every thing he touched turned to gold. There’s room for all great music isn’t there ?
@robicenco1 Absolutely agreed! Such an album they made – long live is traces if you ask me. But, thats another story, dio and blackmore and the guys build up an album to show and be proud of 🙂
jesus christ! this song… the intro is just wonderful! 🙂
@jpocalips1 really? i listen to this and it reminds me so much of iron maiden. i dont think they were consciously trying to copy this or anything, i could just really imagine them playing this (maybe not these days but in the past).
@jimmyshitbags I don’t get the comparison in the two bands two totally different styles, granted both bands have very powerful vocalists, but musically at two different ends of the spectrum, I don’t think Maiden was ever trying to sound like Rainbow.
Best album ever no other comes close
