Probably my favourite shaman song. It brings out the wolf in me. Can’t help but dance like an idiot either.

  • ellinikijesvh says:

  • Hikk0 says:

wow, trippy video, fits very well with the music. love the joik

  • TheOmena666 says:

Where ever I am and I hear joiking it makes me feel like I am at home. Cause I’m originally from north Finland and my native language is Sámi and now when I quit far away from home I happy that I can find joik and Sámi language song also from YouTube.

  • azraelscross says:

its not that old of a split as the beginning. but if you look at the older pictures of the Sami people and pictures of the Inuit from Canada you can see a resemblance. even without genetics you can tell

  • ellinikijesvh says:

Long live to Korpiklaani, Long live to Shamanism.
The drums of the ancient spirit still beat in our Pagan Heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alalzia says:

Thanks for the great video , i didn’t know that this awesome band had also this side .

And stop the crap , the earth is 4.000.000.000 years old , 50.000 years is not “along ago” but yesterday .

  • omgpwnd says:

well if you want to go with the genetics thing TECHNICALLY we are all pretty related and seperated long ago. Homo Sapien evolved in southern Africa and then migrated north and out from there. So yeah Native Americans and Finno Ugric aswell as EVERYONE ELSE

  • Joonavainio says:

Firstly, Native Americans are related to Fenno Ugric people. Unless you want to dispute with genetics. Separated long ago, though.

Secondly, about the nature of joik, it is mainly expressing your feelings and life story, or another’s life story, or any story just in unintelligible words. That is the power of joik. It captures the essence instead of the substance. Basic rule of Finnish spellsinging.

Thanks for a great clip, Rohe.

  • Fyremael says:

Kanohta lavlla means “canoe Song”. Just letting you know! Thanks for posting this video. Hearing a joik always makes me feel so at peace once more.

  • Psychokilla92 says:

Begin of “Mu Sieiddi Beales Mun Gottan” of the Shamaniac Album 1. Track ..

  • Psychokilla92 says:

thanks^^ I know that it’s the “first” beer song but where is the Song? I mean on which Album did you find it? I have Shamaniac and Idja and it’s not on them^^

  • RoheMjollnir says:

    no offence but you’re wrong.
Vuola Lávlla means “Beer song” and the lyrics are a little bit different actually. I’m not sure what “Kanohta” means, but it’s different.

  • Psychokilla92 says:

    That isn’t Kanohta Lávlla… it’s Vuola Lávlla..^^ no offence^^

  • Accisma says:

thanks for this! I am a big fan of Korpiklaani, but I much prefer the Shaman stuff. It is so much deeper and meaningful, with the Sámi yoiking and ancient Finnic shamanistic themes.

  • CHARADIUS says:

  • GoldFace691 says:

hey, yoik is fucking awesome, i love it, i must learn it and create a band to yoik haha

  • shuichifucker says:

can you tell me more about shaman? i know korpi but their history seems verry interesting to me. great song btw 😀

  • BelphegorBlackMetal says:

para mi korpiklaani es muxo mejor de lo k eran como shaman!

  • RoheMjollnir says:

Jonne Järvelä must have real balls to bring us this form of unknown music. And I’m definitely happy that he risked his own balls to show this exotic music to the whole world. I must say that if it wasn’t for him, I’d never heard of it. So, I’m not going to let people like you blow it up. Sorry.
If you didn’t mean it then I must apologize, but let I make this clear to all those who share this antagonism with Shaman’s music.

  • RoheMjollnir says:

I totally disagree. This kind of song is called the “yoik” and is a sort of a tribal/spiritual form of singing/dancing. Just because you can’t understand it, it doesn’t mean it’s ugly or poor in lyrics/rhythm. To the contrary, it’s actually quite deep and rich in rhythm and other things.
Unfortunately I’ll have to say that you’re pretty narrow-minded, my friend. I think you’d rather listen to Britney Spears and all those crappy “creative” shit than pure spiritual music.

  • RoheMjollnir says:

verdad, pero me gustan más las músicas viejas que las nuevas.

  • RoheMjollnir says:

Well, by the time Shaman/Korpiklaani did this song they weren’t so “heavy metal”, perhaps a bit of “folk rock” or just folk.
