Shaman Talent Builds
So you’ve chosen the Shaman, and now you’re looking for the talent build that will make you the best you can be, right?
Look no further, because whether you’re an Alliance or Horde Shaman, I’ll give you the run down on how to craft an effective build, and what each tree should be used for.
First up, what exactly are you trying to achieve?
Are you a level 10 Shaman, new to the world and not sure what build you want? Or are you a level 19 who’s just getting stuck into PvP for the first time? Perhaps you’re just about to start your first instance, and want a build that won’t get you laughed at.
Here are my thoughts on PvE (leveling) Shamans, PvP Shamans, and Raid Shamans, and what kind of build you’ll need for each.
First up, PvE (leveling) builds need to focus on a balance of damage, protection and efficiency of mana.
Most Shaman’s will choose either an elemental build, or an enhancement build for their leveling, but steer clear of restoration.
You must accept that if you go resto for leveling its going to take you a long, long time to hit 80.
Advice: Choose talents based on extra damage or mana efficiency, as well as utility. Ghost wolf is a good example. If you start getting wailed on and need to flee, a quick ghost wolf and run will help you avoid corpse runs.
Forget about adding anything into totems if you can help it. Totems are for groups only and you likely won’t be doing much of that for a long time.
For PvP as a Shaman I highly recommend the Elemental build. Why?
The elemental build, with a little enhancement built in is a critting machine, and great
