You might also want to check out Janina Renee’s Tarot Spells if you are interested in using the cards for that kind of practice. =) It’s a much lighter book, maybe a bit too fluffy and New Agey at times, but an interesting read all the same. I personally like to compare views and read both the complicated, ceremonial, Hermetic stuff as well as easier Wiccan literature.
Really good review! Thank you! 🙂
Thank you for that comment, it’s always good to have other people’s views and thoughts on tarot books. Especially “dense” ones 🙂
Portable Magic is an amazing book. It is very, hm, “dense” so to speak, filled with so many things that it’s best to read it at very slow pace. Take your time. It took me almost three weeks to finish it. I’m thinking of going through it again in detail before starting any practical work. If for nothing else, I will be in debt with the author forever for the mere fact that it was with this book that I finally figured some of the basics of Kabbalah. Before, I considered it total nonsence. =)

Thank you. Enjoy the book reading 🙂
very cool. I have a new list of authors now to look up 😀 I love my tarot and my runes. Whoever is working with me when doing them is a nice entity.
Thank you! I was going to say that of course one doesn’t need a book to read the cards, and in fact for beginners sometimes it’s best to fully use your intuition and not rely on a book. But there is certainly no harm in reading books on the subject either, particularly if one is stuck in a reading. Blessings.
Another very informative video. I stumbled upon your channel while doing a search. I think I was drawn to this channel…My interests has recently been herbs and tarot (I mentioned the Herbal Tarot in my other comment), and you are covering these with great info. I’m going to look for the “21 Ways…” and “Portable Magic” for sure :>)
