It was a supernatural View today when the ladies welcomed John Edward, Dr. Brian Weiss, Sandy Anastasi, and Joanne Reeves to our studio! John kicked off the show by doing an amazing audience reading; our viewers were surprised to see how right on he actually was. Then, the ladies welcomed Dr. Brian Weiss, who took Joy on a journey back to a past life. Later, Sandy Anastasi read Whoopi’s tarot cards and informed us what each card actually represents. Finally, John Edward came back to give Sherri a fantastic psychic reading — and Joanne Reeves told Elisabeth and our audience what’s in the stars for the Hasselbeck family. each card acts like a window into another reality, each figure a wealth of wisdom…a mirror reflecting to you something unseen. I love my tarot deck.
Like to see this done with the Marseilles Tarot!
Oddly enough, I am wondering if Orion is the ‘Fool’ (and also the ‘World’ as the journey forms a closed loop at those two cards). Orion has Canis Major (large dog) at his heels just like the ‘Fool’ card often shows. If Orion was based on the mighty king Gilgamesh who took anything he wanted including daughters of any man, he could be regarded as crazy and foolish with ego-power! Gilgamesh went through a transmutation too.
Anyway, it’s something to investigate and attempt to track down.
Somethings like Sagittarius as ‘Temperance’ are similar to mine. Ophiuchus as healer was taught by the centaur Chiron and some say Sagittarius is Chiron (although others say that is Centaurus). Even so, the Ophiuchus/Sagittarius as healing (and perhaps Sagittarius shooting the heart of Scorpius, Antares star) the Sun nearing it’s winter solstice (Death) will ensure (symbolically) it’s resurrection and climb towards summer again.
part3… Anyway, I’m still working on my interpretation based on the constellations. It might be that different aspects of different constellations are within different cards or different symbols are placed throughout the cards as relationships between cards. The whole meanings could go back vaguely to different influences.
So ancient meanings from 2000 years ago (eg.) could have associations with constellations differently then as precession has altered where the equinoxes/solstices are.
part 2… Another example is Libra as ‘Hanged Man’. Libra was once part of the double sign of the Scorpion and even now two stars mean ‘northern claw’ and ‘southern claw’. the claws of Scorpius (Libra) trap the man. as the Sun moves into the main Scorpius constellation, it ‘stings the Sun’ as the ‘Death’ card. I see the ignored 13th zodiac sign Ophiuchus (the snake handler) above Scorpius curing the Sun as ‘Temperance’.
Anyway, I’m still working on my interpretations.
I’ve been investigating this connection myself recently but I’m coming to different conclusions. For example, I see ‘Leo’ as the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ because in older times the summer solstice was in Leo (due to precession of the equinoxes, that has changed). Leo being the height of the Sun’s power is at the top but has climbed there and will descend soon. Virgo is the ‘Strength’ card as she takes over the Sun from Leo (the Sun goes to Virgo from Leo) and is seen controlling the lion in the card.
youre welcome. the main thing is just let the cards talk to you, don’t overthink about what they are supposed to mean or should mean. just clear your mind and let the cards talk, go with your intuition
This will help me so much more in tarot reading Thank You! This has opened my eyes, I’m so shut off from my own abilities right now, the cards tell me I’m a skilled reader by nature but, something in me can’t grasp it just yet. With this new found knowledge I’ll begin again. Thank You.
Nice video, anyone getting into this should watch Michael Tsarion Divination and the Goddess Tradition DVD.
My tarot card is The Star because I’m an Aquarius.
Great video – I was also wondering if you could explain the belt around the rider of the Chariot card. It seems to have the signs of the zodiac on it but it reminds me of orions belt but. .maybe the wrong way round.. if you see that? What do you think?
in the marsellla tarot i cant find those symbols they talk about on the video
Great Video, very informative!!!
thank you for your comment. you nailed it, there is no real right or wrong way, there is only what works for you. all these videos are is me trying to show people the way i look at tarot and maybe people can then look at tarot in a new way with “new eyes”. thats how you grow in your card reading
gswarner: Thank you for sharing! in Tarot nothing is written in stone so if the associations you did for the Court Cards work for you, so be it! as for me I found some associations a little bit forced (not complaining) but anyway helpful as mnemonics (bitten by a goat?) once again thank you for sharing.
hmmm im not sure i agree with this – by the end of the video, it seemed as though the creator was starting to get desperate in finding symbolism…
pathetic?? nooooo, spyro music is supposed to make you feel HAPPY 🙂
most golden dawn interpretations do not correlate to this information. however the golden dawn is far from the last word in tarot interpretations.
Mm.. when I first watched this video I recognized the Spyro theme music.. I feel pathetic. Other than that… the video was helpful. =]
The Tarot King’s also refer to energy in motion, which again confirms their
‘cardinal’ relationship to the zodiac. These are then followed by the Queen’s, which are ‘fixed’ energy: Scorpio, Leo, Taurus and Aquarius, and the Knight’s, which are ‘mutable’ energy: Pisces, Saggitarius, Virgo, and Gemini.
Unfortunately the astrological associations with most of the cards represented here are very inaccurate. The tarot does indeed bare very significant astrological meanings, but a thorough study of the ‘order’ and ‘time orientation’ of each card is first necessary in order to apply these associations. Examples of this are: King’s, which represent the ‘cardinal’ energy of astrology and therefore follow in order: Cups=Cancer, Wands=Aries, Pentacles=Capricorn, and Swords =Libra.
I have been an astrologer for a lot of years. i do not agree with this at all,I will say Tarot is a language all in itself and astrological symbolism should be kept out.
What about the knights??
thanks for watching:)
