I had only just found out this existed when it was re-released (good thing, original release decks are hard to come by). I’m fairly new to tarot, and bought this set more for the art than anything (huge Dave McKean fan).
Pluses: the size is interesting, they’re the tallest cards I own (5″ tall). The graphics are gorgeous, the majors well thought out as to who would be on them. Came with a full book too that is art in itself, the typesetting is dynamic and flowing. Also came with a black velvety bag for storage with “Vertigo Tarot”‘ in silver.
Minuses: the cards are a bit thin, so I worry about accidentally damaging them. The imagery would be hard to divine for absolute beginners – there are hints, but you have to know what to look for.
Final verdict: I’m really happy to have them, they’re gorgeous and once I am more proficient I will *carefully* use them. Lovely addition to any collection.
