Song: We DO Not Die Artist: Velvet Hammer Album: The Best Of Pagan Song Why did you tap me On the shoulder In my sleep last night Telling me I must Write this song now That the time is right They’re gonna think I’ve lost my mind Some of them might Be unkind When I say There is no hell We do not die We are not gone We are alive We are just on The other side We are not dead We are alive We do not die We do not die They’re gonna wonder How I got this Information here What will they say When I tell them You whispered in my ear How can I prove Their greatest fears Have been unfounded All these years The truth is There is no hell We do not die We are not gone We are alive We are just on The other side We are not dead We are alive We do not die We do not die

    I’ve lost too many friends in the past couple of years, and every time I hear this, I’m thankful for the messages I’ve gotten so far. I just lost another one a few days ago – I’m tired of grieving and this helps to remind me they’re still here.

    @DominionOfTheSword This is an ancient russian epic story(bylina) of epic athlet (bogatyr’) named Sviatogor(saint mountain).
    Sviatogor was famous as the strongest bogatyr’-giant ever lived on Earth which died trying to lift up the Earth-mother “..with all its seas, forests, towns and people”.

  • georgysb says:

    @DominionOfTheSword
    There’s my attempt to translate from old russian of smal fragment of it:
    “It’s not at the glorious Kiev city
    Not at the Great Novgorod
    But next to Sourozh, russian sea,
    T’mutarakan’ princedom
    Where it’s not a hill or mountain,
    But the bogatyr’ Sviatogor who is standing:
    Arms and legs are of stone, hair is of snow and ice…”

    Fantastic epic song! Such a great combination of ancient sound and modern production. Everytime I hear it I feel proud to be a Slav.

    If anyone knows some other Russian/Slavic songs like this one, please let me know. Check out song from South Slavic song I love, by Macedonian band Anastasia – Pass Over. YouTube code is
