Question by Shot Gun: What album is way too long?
RHCP’s “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” always drags for me. I’m listening to U2’s “Achtung Baby” right now, and while I’m enjoying it immensely (much better that that self indulgent piece of crap “The Joshua Tree”) it seems like they could have cut about fifteen minutes out.
Same goes for almost any rap album made since 1992. Some are good enough (OutKast always makes the format work) but it can be a big turn-off in lesser artists.
How about you?

Pink Floyd- The Wall
lasts forever!!!!but it rocks!!!
rock out man!
I agree with you about rap albums. Even the ones I like seem to have more filler than rock albums. Not sure if thats a symptom of the artist not having enough material for a strong album, or me not “relating” to it.
I can’t think of any particular album that is too long, but the Guns N Roses albums Use Your Illusion 1 & 2 were halfway decent by themselves. Had they instead decided to cut out half the songs they could have had one great album instead of two mediocre ones.
Good call of the BSSM but it is sooo great.
“Thick as a Brick” of Jethro Tull, It has only one song which has 45 minutes. But don’t be scared, Thick as a Brick, besides the long time you’ll spend listening its worth it. Thick as a Brick is the best album i’ve ever heard in my whole fucking life.
lets see how much hate I can generate for saying this…..
how about “WATERSHED” by Opeth?
Without question, the most boring, overrated album of the year. I love me some Metal..but this was torture on my ears.
It’s like people feel they have to think it’s good because the Metal magazines all gushed over it, so they all have to agree or something… and it just ISN’T.
There. My opinon. Bring the pain!
Hmm, well I don’t know if I’m saying this because it’s how I thought the last time I listened to it, but Blonde On Blonde. It’s great, but goes on a bit.
