Question by crystal spring: What do you think of the New Age teachings, and New Age movement? read the details?
i’ve seen a lot of hatred and discrimination towards New age believers coming from people who claim to be doing the service of God, in being Christians?
i’ve even heard some racist native americans, and shamans say well we don’t want anything to do with the new age movement? i’ve heard some native americans even say things like they are tired of multi-racials claiming they are part native american.
a lot of hate, discrimination, etc. coming towards new age pagan followers.
and i am wondering why? why?
so what if a person is part native american, and doesn’t speak the language or know the customs, a lot of native americans have forgotten their language and their culture. they have been sucked into christianity, and lost a lot…

why does it bother you so much laura? not to mention no one is one race, just to put that out there. i am not technical with my percentages of my races whatsoever. but i know only a part of me is native american. this question has more to do with the discrimination faced, not just the breakdown of a person’s races. also, in our society if you don’t look the part of the typical native american, or white, or black person, you often times, if you want to explain yourself, feel you have to say, part of me is native american, because even thought i have light skin and curly puffy hair, i look more white and black, and not part native, at all, so what i am saying is in our society, the 1/2, 1/3 breakdown is what our world is promoting for people to say. like barack 1/2 black 1/2 white, he just says he is black. get it!
everyone generalizes and stereotypes. if you didn’t look at the link, why answer the question, you aren’t going to understand any of the things i’ve stated.

I hate it when people sit there and calculate what percentage of them are native American vs. African.
ADD: The guy on that video was grasping at straws. If the people who listen to Oprah don’t WANT to read “The Secret” because it contradicts the bible, They don’t have to. Oprah is not “leading people away from their religion.” If they are led away from their religion, it is because they let it happen.

I have not looked into your youtube link, however it appears like yo shifted in mid thought. You spoke about the new age and do people agree with it, then to projecting about Native Americans and how they feel about things, well some natives, at least you did not generalize.
Have you ever attempted to empathize with them, to see their perspective — that is to suspend yourself and consider their own and not identify and say what you feel they should be like, because you feel they have loss their way? If they have loss their way, then should you expect anything more of those few you are mentioning?
Needless to say, I am a Gnostic and a Mystic and I do not agree with a lot of the New Age, more so the mindset, the non-discerning, and the complacency, and often the denial of a consecrated lifestyle. There are some god things in the new age though, their exercises, holistic healings, crystal healings, and etc.
As for racism that Natives may have, I do not know. I have never experienced it. I have ancestors that are Native American, but you would never be able to tell it. I am a dark skinned black male, that is my physical condition. But I don’t really care about my blood heritage. Being a Gnostic, connecting to my Soul’s Heritage is more important.That is what is greater to connect to, the Soul has NO race, religion, creed or what have you. Know thy self, this is what matters to me.
EDIT : That guy doesn’t even know what he is talking about. While the New AGE has error in it,so does Christianity. Christianity is very very corrupted and so far from its original intents. In fact Yeshua never created a religion called Christianity rather he brought The Way, by which a man could achieve wholeness of mind and being. Perhaps that guy should look at how much his bible is corrupted and how he doesn’t really understand it, before he goes off judges things he doesn’t know anything about, in the manner of the pharisees in that book he loves. God didn’t come down and create the bible.
And the reason why Obama considers himself black, is because that’s how America is. If you are mixed with black, you are black. It was called the 1 drop rule. And it still exists in the minds of people. If you have any black in you, you somehow are black. Yeah it seems racist, but that’s how it is.
DOUBLE EDIT: Exotic I am sorry. How does the link to youtube connect to your “feelings” about Native Americans and how they reject people who are not fully Native, as well as how does Native American’s succumbing to Christianity have to do with that Link? Ok your title relates to the Link from the youtbe video, which is why I made my edit. HOWEVER what does it have to do with Natives not accepted people who are not fully Native? Your whole point became about Native Americans. The direction was loss. I was just commenting on this fact.
Maybe the Native Americans see themselves as being displaced and marginalized by the new comers within their own belief system?
