proof lies in their own experiments, in their own minds. This is one reason that metaphysics has been shunned by modern science, as the results are not often objective. To this, the metaphysician would reply that reality is not objective.
I suppose, then, that it is a matter of personal belief. Anyone who does not want to accept metaphysics, will not accept it, and those that do, will. It is, however, an extremely fascinating field of thought.
